we love you, MLK

we had a very busy, but very fun Martin Luther King weekend. wedding showers (and now baby showers) have officially taken over my life...along with bachelorette parties and weddings. but i really kind of love that, because it gives me an excuse to go home to see wonderful, old friends. i always forget how much i love, and after talking for 5 seconds, i remember.

i've got it pretty great.

he wakes up and makes me breakfast on his days off.
he scrapes the ice and snow off my car..correction, andie's car...and turns up the heat so it's nice and toasty when i leave for school.
he washes the dishes EVERY night.
and he settles for falling asleep with the light on so i can read.

i really hit the motherload with this boy :)

goodbye, 2009. you'll be missed.

2009 was a big year, a VERY BIG year. so much happened, good and bad. here's the rundown.

in january erick and i went back to bowling green and ohio state to finish our last years of graduate school. i procrastinated, then worked relentlessly...and FINALLY finished my thesis (it still hurts to say that word). i fell madly in love with MGDUBS, and erk man made some great friends as well. i turned 23.

i went to phoenix for a conference with some of my best friends, which was a wonderful adventure in itself. we celebreated literacy in the park (in the ballroom) with the krollster. MGDUBS reinacted the bader across town. erick turned 24. we graduated with masters degrees and finished planning our wedding.

my grandma passed away in june, and we still miss her terribly. i fortunately landed my first (real) job as a first grade teacher. we moved our stuff to hilliard and didn't work all summer :) we were married at the end of the month on the most magical day of my life and spent a week in puerto rico for our honeymoon. i got myself a boy roommate for life ;)

erick was hired as a high school conselor, and i got my classroom ready for the munchkins. many, many friends were married. we visited joey and brad in cincy and went to the great american ball park. we moved again to marysville and made our tiny apartment a home. we kissed summer goodbye and grew up a lot.

i learned to cook and made my husband dinner (almost) every night. we went to many-a-tailgates to cheer on the bucks. we went back to celina and coldwater most weekends. more friends got married, and kam and josh found out they were expecting their first baby.

we spent thanksgiving and christmas with our families and friends; they were our first holidays as a married couple, and we can't wait to do it every year, forever.

thanks for the memories. 2009 was definitely full of them. we are so exctied about 2010 and all the possibilities it brings. i can't wait to see what this year has in store for us. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

love,
the woestes
